I’ve discovered that the in-game cursor is flickery and keeps jumping to the upper left corner of my desktop (outside of the window!) for a few frames here and there. I had a hunch, so I dropped my refresh rate back down to 60FPS (from 120) and that fixed it.
so you have some display bugs at high refresh rates. Windows 11 Pro, Nvidia RTX 3090, Ryzen 8 5950X, 32GB RAM, native display resolution 5120x1440 (32:9 ultra-ultrawide monitor)
hey, so i've been looking into this a lot, and coming up with not much, unfortunately. it doesn't happen on my end, and i don't get any errors while testing, so it's hard to say what's going on. i thought it was an issue with nvidia graphics cards not playing nicely with godot, but that might not actually be it? i'm kind of stumped. you could try updating your graphics card's drivers if they're not already, but other than that i don't have much info to go off of
Hi, I posted earlier about the game not working. I tried updating my graphics card's drivers like you suggested here and it still didn't work. I am having the same problem mikisas is having with the game window opening and instantly freezing. It opens small, then covers most of the screen with the close button out of reach. The cursor changes into a cartoon hand and refuses to go to the close button until I click on program on the toolbar where it will change to normal and the game will say it is "not responding" and then when I click to exit it will ask what I want to do since it won't respond (close or wait). When I click to close it will "send a report to Microsoft" and then close.
This is a very cute game! I really liked to play it!

I was confused at first glance but the tutorial at the start made me understand things very quickly, I didn't read the instruction on the main page but even so I understood that I could combine the 2 key pieces without being directly told to do so and through the game it felt nice to figure things out by myself! like what each mask do and in what situations I should use them. I think my favorite puzzle was figuring that I needed to use the heat from the tanukis to go through the cold area. When I first heard the warden's steps I got jumpscared by them appearing so suddenly but when I got caught they just turned Mary into a mousey, it subverted my expectations , that was nice of them. The 2 bunnies were one of my favorite critters I encountered, I like that after you manage to drink all the tea they let you go through the door but if you comeback and talk to them again one of them seems so happy that you wanna be bunny with them. I was also surprised when I encountered dragon Gifty guarding the key! It was nice seeing her, she just gives mary the key which was nice of her but after waiting a little longer they hug and that was so sweet and cuute! it's one of my favorite wishes. I enjoyed playing your game! ^ °^
i'm really glad you enjoyed it! it was fun figuring out all the characters you could interact with and the different ways things would go ^^ also i think that puzzle is my favorite too hehe
I cant figure out how to get the third mask at all. I've been stuck forever on it. I am enjoying the transformations that i have been able to find so far though.
possibly a bug with godot games on your computer? i know there's been some issues with vulkan in newer versions of godot. hard to test since my machine runs it fine
I'm seeing a similar issue. All I can really add is that the game boots in a small window, supposedly acting normally with the cursor even changing, but when it tries to expand to a larger resolution it hangs. Other godot games run fine for me
Also experiencing it. Windows 10, NVIDIA 540M, drivers installed.
Ran with compatiblity mode, still failed. Changed GPU settings and disabled DPI, etc. Didn't work unfortunately. I may try troubleshooting more if requested.
I struggled to launch the game at first, due to it insisting to not run on my NVIDIA GPU. Even after changing settings up from the control panel; both program specific settings and global settings.
I used cmd to launch it as per the error message box:
[Directory of the game]>Masks.exe --rendering-driver opengl3
With this, I did launch it, but it still crashed anyways. Godot 4 is probs to blame here.
It is fun, but I have found myself stuck on a part. I cannot find out how to get past the plants or the snakes. I have the shears, but I cant use them fast enough in the gas to not get transformed. I don't know what the trick is for this.
This was a real short and sweet game! I loved the variety of puzzles and transformations you were able to pack into it. The mask system was neat as well; Managing statuses beyond just "Your health/stamina is low" in point and click adventure games is pretty unique and fits a transformation-themed game perfectly.
I think my favorite wish was either "A Wish to Dote Upon" or "A Wish To Care For The Self." The juxtaposition of big, intimidating creatures gently cuddling with someone much smaller and more vulnerable is a theme I'm a real big fan of.
"A Wish To Indulge Without Shame" was also real nice. The two bunnies were adorable!
How did you get past the plants/snakes? I am stuck here completely. I have tried being cold going past the snakes/plants, being hot past them. The 5 masks that I have. I also have the shears as well, and the blue key. I am just not sure what needs to be done to get past either of these.

The pickaxe head disappears upon obtaining and other times, it disappears when combining with the stick. At least in the linux version.
so whenever i start the game it just sits on a grey crash screen. am i just being impatient or is there some bug going on? (windows version btw)

This sounds stupid, but how do I light up the match?
Also, what should the cow mask be used for?
Is the mirror mainly to show the endings you've gotten for things? Or can more be done with it?

i used the rabbit mask to get past the snakes.
ah, thank you. Must have clicked to slow the first time. Didn't realize how much fast that mask makes you, although in restrospect it makes sense.
