Do you plan to continue working on this game at some point. I really enjoyed playing it and would love to to it continued. I feel their is a lot of potential for this game.

(+3)

it's something i've definitely considered! if i find myself inspired to do a lot with it then i would like to continue working. it's an unfortunate gamble with the time i'd need to spend returning to it haha

if you enjoy working on it then it’s not a gamble, it’s a passion project, also practice.

(-2)

if you dont intend to work on it or finish it why keep it up? big brain moments

I hope you do! I really liked the game

also, if you do plan to do that I suggest you add more to the 'development log' section so people can know what's been added and such. I remember the game being updated before and being confused why there wasn't anything about it in the dev log.

I can't get this error to occur again (thankfully), but the first time I tried running this on my laptop, none of the tiles after the exterior scene at the beginning rendered properly, only the player character and the critter at the front desk were displayed.

The log file located at /AppData/Roaming/Clockwork Manor/logs/godot.log is insanely large (3.4 GB). Here's the beginning of it it:

It continues like this, repeating the "USER ERROR" line over and over.

Trying to run the game again a few days later, it now works as expected, with a much more reasonably sized log file, haha.

It's not impacting me anymore, but I figured I'd tell you just in case it comes up for anyone else, and possibly to let anyone else experiencing the same issue know to delete their log file.

really strange! i appreciate the error log, i remember getting a similar bug once but not having any info about it

Love this game.
Easy gameplay with ability to make decision few steps in advance, and adapt your route on a fly. Althrough it was hard to get Cooking and i have not found recipes on wall untill end of the game XD
Artstyle is good and characters are cute.
This game even have lore, not sure if it's intentional or i am just digging too deep.
Meet some bugs but nothing game breaking.

Worst nightmare is when there trapped floor right behind character/guest sprite :D

Is there any other content about this Setting/Universe and Characters?

Wish best of luck and giant jar of Inspiration.

P.S. Woo-hoo, my first speedrun ever. I guess this is 100% type speedrun? Could i make it under 2 hours?

Incredible game, my only actual gripe is well, that it's a shorter project for a game Jam. Either a similar concept or an extension of this game would be incredible. In the meantime following for more interesting concepts and hoping to see something with more hazards or perils for our cute protagonists.

I think i found a bug:
Sometimes, the guys wont except the curry when its a task for them.

might depend on if you need curry or curry rice! those are two different items

huh, i didn't know that. thanks!

I have some questions: if i turn off "Accessibility" can i miss something? or before/when/after (before taking, when taking, after completing) tasks i need exploring all manor for something, or i don't find anything? and how many "easter eggs" here, cuz i found only one, and don't know what to do

you don't miss anything for using accessibility options, there's not really anything you need to find in the manor, and that's the only easter egg. story happens as you play more days

What's the adult warning about?

you can see what's adult about it in the game's description

So, any nudity and/or sex?

No Nudity or Sex.
"It has elements of hypnosis, reality shifting, and transformation."

Dude the game looks soo cool, o really wanted to play it, i hope there is going to be a mobile version soon.

there's a bug that i can walk into the wall at west 2nd floor here

this is a really great game but i'm struggling because all the location i know is only the bedroom. Is there a map in this game or i have to try to explore it myself?
I really like the art, it's simple and cute.
Hope you can have a nice day

it's something you've gotta explore for yourself! maybe sometime i could add a little guide or map as an accessibility option though. and thank you 'w'

(+1)

The art is great but the rate at which you get new cutscenes is seriously too slow

I have over an hour in of pretty repetitive gameplay and still haven't seen NSFW content lol

If you want to keep it as is, adding some kind of accessibility option to drastically increase the points earned per run would be nice

if i'm intuiting your definition of nsfw content correctly then i think you're gonna be disappointed with this game tbh. story progression is tied to days spent though, not points earned

what is Vulkan video driver? my3070ti doesnt support this. idk why

i have no idea sorry, seems to be a graphics card issue that i can't fix on my end

(2 edits)

"Unable to initialize Vulkan video driver"

Can't even run the game...

seems like that's a graphics card issue, i don't think there's anything i can do on my end - maybe double checking your graphics card drivers could help? i'm not sure

This is a very charming little game! How much is there to explore (hazards, hypnotic suggestions, etc.)?

And as a bug report: using the "quit to desktop" option closes the window but doesn't actually stop the game running! The background clock ticking can still be heard and has to be closed through task manager

thank you! in terms of hazards and suggestions there isn't a ton (just the three hazards) but i tried to put a lot into the manor's overall design and layout to hopefully make it fun to keep learning the ins and outs of the game 'w'

also that's a strange bug! i can't seem to replicate it. are you playing on windows?

I see!

If you can't replicate the bug then I think I can safely chalk it up to my potato computer.

The game seems to freeze for me when it tries to award the 6th star. Specifically, it freezes on 94/95 points.

(1 edit)

oh god........ok i'll check that out!

(edit: found a fix! turns out it was an infinite loop cause the max points at 6 stars is considered 0)

sometimes rooms cannot be entered. the entered room is shown for a second before it fades and i'm in the room i just tried to exit.

i finally found out how to play andwas about to fulfil my first quest but this bug ruined it.

did this happen while you had the effect that makes your character move around on their own?

no. it happens even after failing the task while going to bed. maybe it's related to the potatoness of my 10y/o chrome book.

the transitions are not consistent in the order of fade to black and room switching. but when the bug happens it always switches the room first before fading to black before switching back to the starting room.

it seems to be completely random where it happens. i did manage to explore the whole place once and don't remember the bed rooms bugging out ever.

that's really strange! i'll look into this and see if i can find a fix, i'm sorry you're having trouble!

i'm using Arch, btw. (running the linux build)

(1 edit)

whenever i get caught by a hazard and get sent back to the entrance, i lose the ability to walk, all i can do is talk to the caretaker. i messed around in the options and unplugged my controller but nothing seemed to work. at that point i have to quit to title and reload the save.

otherwise, this game looks really nice! very wholesome and everything.

I'm also having this problem in v1.02

Interestingly, I'm not having this issue with the v1.01 version I downloaded beforehand, though the v1.02 version does have this problem.

(1 edit)

oh god sorry!! i'll fix it right away

(edit: should be fixed in 1.0.3 now!)

The music is quite soothing, cute art, and interesting concept! But it seems like after getting caught and respawning at the front desk the movement is disabled, so can't really do much after that!

(+1)

hey sorry, i messed something up, should be fixed in the 1.0.3 version i just uploaded!

(+1)

how do you escape when caught by  a hazard? When I press the arrow keys repeatedly it seems to be doing something but it just looks like I'm keeping the hazard from progressing rather then escaping.

(+1)

that's a bug sorry! it should be fixed in the new version!

(+1)

a okie thank u!

(1 edit)

mashing seems to make you get captured faster instead of breaking out (1.04 Windows)

haven't been able to escape once

that's intended!

? I thought it was at first but when you replied to Comfy you said it was a bug

oh lemme clarify, the bug was that struggling stopped the hazard from progressing at all, and the intended scenario is that struggling speeds up how fast the hazard progresses. there was an issue with timers that made it so the hazard's progression timer would never end, basically, so the first "step" of the hazard animation never finished and you'd just stay there until you stopped pressing buttons

Holy crap this looks awesooome
